Hello, Friend. It’s former CIA Director Mike Pompeo, and I wanted to take a moment to share something deeply personal with you. This is something that has stayed with me for years and continues to shape the way I approach life and leadership:
During my time as CIA Director, I stepped off a plane one night in a remote, troubled part of the world. The air was thick with tension, but I had a mission: to protect our country and its values.
As I was walking toward the ground crew, one of the men handed me a gift - a worn, palm-sized Bible with a note written inside: “Mr. Director, you have been a light to me and the world. Bless you.” It was at that moment I realized the true meaning of being a light in a dark world.
To this day, that gift has always reminded me of something I’ve come to hold dear: our shared mission to live out our faith in every area of our lives. And as we reflect on the outcome of the 2024 elections, now more than ever, we must be that light.
As someone who has always turned to God’s guidance in my career, whether as a Sunday school teacher, diplomat, or public servant, I know that our nation’s founders recognized religious freedom as one of our most sacred rights.
And as we continue on this journey under the leadership of President Trump and a Republican majority, it is more important than ever that we protect that freedom.
