Last week the far-right House Republicans' plans became crystal clear when
they passed by the narrowest of margins their budget resolution. In it
they started the process to pass a law that will give massive ($4.5
TRILLION) tax breaks to billionaires and to mega-corporations, while
forcing everyone else (like me and you) to pay the price.
Republicans in Congress want to give tax cuts to the super rich (think
Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg) and mega-corporations, and pay for them by
making massive cuts to Medicaid and raising taxes on the tens of millions
of Americans who get their health care from the Affordable Care Act. In
addition, they plan to slash funding for food stamps (SNAP), K-12
education, and other vital programs that help families, small businesses,
and our economy in order to fund these tax cuts.
We need to speak out now and we need to speak out loud!!

Elon Musk, acting on Trump’s illegal overreach to slash programmatic
funding through mass firings and shut down government agencies, is playing
a dangerous game with the lives of federal workers, their families, and
also the American public at large.
Musk and Trump’s actions have led to the layoff of thousands of federal
workers – everyone from those who help run Head Start to air traffic
controllers who help keep air travel safe to federal workers in charge of
safeguarding our nuclear weapons. The Trump Administration’s illegal
actions in shuttering agencies is not just a bureaucratic nightmare - they
are a direct threat to the lives of everyday families.

URGENT! President Trump removed a national database tracking police
misconduct, a dangerous move that weakens police accountability and
transparency and undoes the progress our movement has made.
The police officers responsible for the deaths of Tamir Rice, Breonna
Taylor, Sandra Bland, Philando Castile, and Eric Garner all had histories
of troubling and inappropriate behavior, including complaints of
unnecessary use of excessive force. In 2023, President Biden created the
National Law Enforcement Accountability Database (NLEAD) to flag these
histories and to save precious lives.
Among a flurry of concerning actions to remove important government
functions, Trump’s Department of Justice has removed this database.
Moms want to raise our kids in safe and peaceful communities. Congress
must step in and reinstate the National Law Enforcement Accountability
Database (NLEAD) and give police departments a centralized resource to
prevent future tragedies.

On Tuesday, the #TrumpTariffWarOnFamilies went in to full effect!
President Trump has instated a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and
Mexico and a 20% tariff on imports from China. Canada and China have
already announced that they will retaliate with their own tariffs on U.S.
goods, including a wide array of U.S. farm exports. These tariffs will
increase the cost of almost everything–food, gas, computers, cars,
clothes, and more. We are officially in a tariff war that is harming our
families, our small businesses, rural communities, and our economy!
Instead of this chaos, our elected leaders should be cracking down on
price gouging, fixing our tax code to make billionaires and
mega-corporations pay their fair share, and investing in American workers
and small businesses with care policies that lift our families.
