The Lincoln Project

Friend,

Now that it’s completely clear the economy is moving backward, not forward as Trump promised, let’s go over the why.

You know how Trump refers to himself as a “self-made mogul”?

How he brags about these great business moves, talks about hiring the best people, and used to call Forbes magazine every day to inflate his net worth so he could be up there on the billionaires list with the likes of Bloomberg and Cuban?

And then remember how we've always been quick to call his bluff, point out his bankruptcies and boneheaded schemes, and demand the release of his tax returns (like every other president has provided)?

Well, now we’re finally in unison on something. His company, Trump Technology and Media Group, parent company of Truth Social, had to file an SEC report the other day. And let’s just say, it sounds like we wrote it.

Here’s our favorite nugget:

“A number of companies that were associated with President Donald J. Trump have filed for bankruptcy. There can be no assurances that TMTG will not also become bankrupt. Entities associated with President Donald J. Trump have filed for bankruptcy protection in the past. The Trump Taj Mahal, which was built and owned by President Donald J. Trump, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1991. The Trump Plaza, the Trump Castle, and the Plaza Hotel, all owned by President Donald J. Trump at the time, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1992. THCR, which was founded by President Donald J. Trump in 1995, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2004. Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc., the new name given to Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts after its 2004 bankruptcy, declared bankruptcy in 2009. While all of the foregoing were in different businesses than TMTG, there can be no guarantee that TMTG’s performance will exceed the performance of those entities.”

So, back to the economy – should we really be surprised that the guy who’s (by his own admission) gone bankrupt at least 6 times probably isn’t the best at leading the largest economy in the world?

No, we shouldn’t.

But because he gets ghostwriters to do books, started a fake college, and of course had a reality show where he hired and fired C-list celebrities, voters think he’s capable. It’s time he gets exposed.

When looking for who to blame on rising costs, government layoffs, and an increasing wealth divide, we want voters to look Trump’s way. Because it’s his fault. Help us expose the world's biggest conman >>
