Newsom's Misguided Climate Priorities Endanger Californians

The state and local governments’ responsibility for the failures that led to the cataclysmic Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025 will eventually be determined.

But even at this juncture, California Gov. Gavin Newsom and his legislative majority cannot escape their responsibility for their budget priorities that have funded a misguided effort to slow climate change, rather than mitigate its consequences, like the increasing risk of wildfires in the state.

Base Affirmative Action On Class, Or Get Rid Of It

California, always an innovator in the field of racial foolishness, recently saw a bill proposed that would guarantee affirmative action benefits – notably preferential college admissions – to the descendants of Black American slaves.

This is a bad idea, but is a step in the right direction (toward AA programs not existing or being based on socio-economic status), and leads neatly into a conversation about the nuttiness of the past five decades of “DEI.”
