Last night the American people were subjected to lies, lies, and more lies.

So many lies!

Trust me, I know. I watched the entire address given by Donald Trump and tracked so many lies – and news outlets tracked so many lies too.

One thing is clear: Trump’s unAmerican agenda is completely out of touch with what our families want and need, will hurt our economy and small businesses, and divides us at a time when we should be coming together.

I have a toddler and I know that the things I think about regularly are how expensive child care is, if my son is safe and happy, how costly everything is getting at the grocery store (egg prices are still going up), and what type of environment he is growing up in with a country that seems to be ripping apart at the seams. But I truly think that in communities across America there’s more that unites us than divides us. And what we heard last night from the man who is supposed to be the leader of our country felt deeply divisive, out of touch with what most parents are concerned with, and harmful to my son’s future. 

Our families and small businesses need the basic foundations to take care of our children, be able to work, and to contribute to our communities in order to not just get by but thrive. Much of what Donald Trump talked about last night either ignored that simple truth outright or flew in the face of making that a reality. 

Join us in rejecting Trump’s agenda for our country and instead calling on our elected leaders in Congress to pass policies that boost our families, small businesses, communities, and economy.
