Trump’s speech last night was a lot of things: hateful, extremist, full of stunts and lies, and riddled with right-wing propaganda. But what it wasn’t? A plan to help Americans struggling with sky-high costs of living.

I timed it. It took Trump TWENTY minutes before he even mentioned the economy. And when he did? He basically shrugged and said there would still be “bumps in the road.” That’s not what he promised his voters. That’s not leadership. That’s a guy who has spent no time talking to Americans about what they’re going through.

Maybe he should try stepping into a grocery store and seeing what people are paying just to put food on the table.

My Democratic colleagues and I are actually working to lower costs—cutting prescription drug prices, stopping price gouging, and putting money back in your pocket. Trump and his MAGA minions? They’re too busy waging culture wars, purging federal employees, and tanking the stock market with reckless tariffs — because they have no real plan for helping working Americans, only plans to enrich themselves.
