Folks, Republicans in our target states are introducing bills to attack Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs and initiatives:
Policies to support and strengthen DEI in our workplaces and public spaces date back to the civil rights movement. DEI initiatives were created to provide equal opportunity and a sense of belonging for historically excluded individuals in the workplace. But now, President Trump and his MAGA allies are actively vilifying this practice. These attacks threaten marginalized communities, and make it significantly harder to establish workplaces where all people can thrive.
Organizers in our target states have been at the forefront of the civil rights movement, but safeguarding our progress in the face of extremism will take a collective effort.
