Unelected billionaires and capitalist tyrants are attempting to take over our city and our country. It's up to us--workers, tenants, allies and community members--to stand up and fight back.
Join us on Wednesday, March 12 for the Billionaires Are Killing Us Mobilize to Save Healthcare--a rally and march on the US Capitol.
An attack on Medicaid is an attack on DC. Republicans are making plans to reduce DC's Medicaid payments by over 20%--forcing a financial crisis for the District and for the care of our neighbors. We stand with the nation in fighting for a budget that leaves Medicaid intact. We demand care for our communities, not billionaire bullies.
Not only are we inviting you to attend the rally with us, but we also ask you to invite your neighbors. On Friday, March 7th we will hold a text bank and outreach hub to invite thousands of people in the DMV to join us. Lunch will be provided, and we encourage anyone looking to connect with others and find community in resistance to join us.

There are important rallies happening in DC every day right now. We chose this one because the budget fight--in particular the campaign to protect Medicaid--offer the clearest leverage for the House and Senate lawmakers to stop the Trump agenda. Changes to Medicaid would also severely damage DC's local budget:
"Reductions in Medicaid spending, a likely possibility as President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans look to slash the federal budget, could mean hundreds of millions of dollars in lost revenue for District health care organizations, according to local leaders and analyses of various scenarios. Kelly Sweeney McShane, president and CEO of Community of Hope, a Federally Qualified Health Center in D.C., said the proposed funding cuts threaten to “decimate the health care ecosystem in D.C.”" (Sara Gilgore, Washington Business Journal)
