Last night, Trump doubled down on his aggressive, illegal, and dangerous agenda in his address to a joint session of Congress.

Trump touted his progress in dismantling key government functions, slashing basic environmental protections, and cutting spending on essential programs. He attacked federal civil servants, warned of economic hardship in the near future, and then called on Congress to make his tax cuts for billionaires and corporations permanent — which will come at the expense of healthcare and food for tens of millions of people.

What Musk, Trump, and their minions are doing will have lasting damage to our food, water, and climate, but together, we can stop the worst of their plans.

Send a message to your members of Congress: Business as usual cannot continue as long as Musk and Trump are on this dangerous path!

Musk and Trump are ignoring Congressional mandates but also want to rely on Democrats to help pass a spending bill that they will just ignore again.

Democratic members need to hear that there is strong support for them not making any agreements with Republicans to pass a single bill until the administration stops their unilateral and illegal activities. Even if your member is speaking out, hearing from you gives them support in that fight!

Republicans need to hear that there is strong opposition to what Musk and Trump are doing and that their constituents expect more. Even the most conservative members need to hear from their constituents.

Tell your member of Congress: As long as the Musk-Trump regime is pursuing illegal actions and ignoring Congress, not a single vote should move forward in Congress.

Already, Musk and Trump, with their brazen disregard for the rule of law, have illegally and unconstitutionally done damage by implementing the following:

Unconstitutional spending freeze, halting essential programs across the board, including an estimated $10 billion in funding for local water projects and USDA conservation programs.

Unconstitutional spending cuts to programs authorized by Congress and promising additional cuts, including to EPA’s budget by 65 percent.

Illegal dismantling of agencies, including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which Congress established.

Illegal mass firings of inspector generals, independent agency heads, probationary workers, and other civil servants at the Environmental Protection Agency, Food and Drug Administration, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk have a clear plan: dismantle core functions of government, then loot and privatize it. Their regime is jeopardizing even the most basic public health protections and services.

Not a single vote should be cast for a spending bill that the executive will just ignore as long as this continues. Congress is a co-equal branch of government. It’s time for Congress members to assert their power and stand up to these illegal and dangerous executive actions!

Demand that your members of Congress use every tool at their disposal to block the unconstitutional actions of the Musk-Trump regime and put our food, water, climate, and communities before billionaire profits.
