It should come as no surprise that at the exact moment GOP members of Congress are feeling the heat at town halls and community meetings back in their home districts, MAGA is aggressively moving to shut down dissent.

Donald Trump posted menacing messages on social media threatening protesters with imprisonment, deportation, and huge fines — and the head of the GOP’s campaign committee told Republican candidates and electeds to stop holding in-person town halls due to the massive backlash they’ve been getting:

We’re sick and tired of Republicans attacking anyone who doesn’t agree with them—even if they are disaffected Republican voters.

But the truth is, Republicans ignore voter backlash at their own peril: “No more town halls” is exactly the kind of thing you say right before you lose your majority in a wave election.

It’s on us to make this happen, and the sooner the better. Our first chance to let Trump and his fascist MAGA friends know that we won’t allow them to take away our Constitutional rights by executive order is to win the upcoming special elections and retake control of the House.
