Hello Comrade! We're having an orientation on March 22. If you are a new member, or just plain eager to learn more about DSA and our work, this will be a great experience for you. It is also a chance to get more involved and to get to know some of your comrades.

- Our First General Membership Meeting of 2025 Was A Massive Success!
- At the February membership meeting, we had over 40 people attend either in person or via Zoom. ?At the Laguna Hi-Valley North Library, we saw a packed room of old and new comrades eager to get involved and stop the fascist tides! ?We also took important steps for our 2025 campaigns as you will see below. ?We look forward to getting to know our new members and we are thrilled to see so many old friends return to our community.
- 2025 Sac DSA Mission Statement Approved!
- Boycott Chevron, "Adopt a Station" Campaign Approved By SacDSA Membership
- As a part of our BDS campaign against Israel, SacDSA and our International Committee are joining forces with other organizations to call for a boycott of the oil giant Chevron, who are literally fuelling the genocide in Gaza as we speak. ?The "Adopt A Station" campaign was approved by a vote at the February meeting, meaning SacDSA will now pick a specific Chevron station to target and demand the franchise owner sign on to a letter denouncing Chevron's support for genocide and disrupt their business with the company. Expect to hear more about this campaign in the coming months!
- SacDSA Membership Says "Socialize PG&E!"
- The membership also voted unanimously to join the Reclaim Our Power Coalition. This coalition is working to force Governor Newsom to enact SB 350, a law passed in 2020 after the horrific wildfires caused by PG&E that turn the company into a non-profit, publicly owned utility like SMUD. The SacDSA Steering Committee will select a member to represent our chapter in this coalition.
- Chapter Code of Conduct
- Since we have an influx of new members, the Sac DSA Steering Committee would like to remind everyone of our Chapter's Code of Conduct. Feel free to consult this document if you ever feel the need to. This code is enforcable by the SacDSA steering committee and it applies to all Sac DSA events and spaces, including in-person meetings, social events, direct actions, and online spaces such as our chapter Slack. If you ever feel harassed or a need for mediation, our Harassment and Grievance Officers (HGOs) are here to help and can be reached at [email protected]. We at SacDSA take the safety and comfort of our comrades very seriously.

- The Only Kings Are The Sacramento Kings!
- On February 17th, 2025, thousands of people gathered at the steps of the capital to hold space against Washington's worst power couple, Trump and Musk. Sacramento stands strong against the Trump administration's DOGE coup and his neo-Nazi, nepo baby puppeteer. ?This event was in addition to the multiple protests that Sacramentans turned out for in January and February and continue to show up for. We applaud our chapter members and our comrades in other organizations who continue to hold space and raise their voices. Our community will not go silently into the night of fascism. Cry about it Elon! We will never surrender!
- More Is Possible, Make The Mayor Listen!
- When he was sworn into office, Mayor McCarty promised to be a mayor for everyone after winning by a razor-thin margin against our endorsed candidate, Dr. Flo Cofer. ?McCarty is now on his "community listening tour," and Sacramento's working class must be heard. ?Upcoming dates for his series include March 6th @ 5:30 PM (Oak Park Neighborhood Association) and March 10th, 5:30 PM (East Sacramento) ?email [email protected] for details on how to join. ?Accountability in our elected officials is vital.
