“Sir Knight Gerald ‘Gerry’ Milton was an inspiration to all who knew him. Compassionate, generous, and deeply committed to uplifting others, Gerry was especially proud of his service as a leader in the Order of the Amaranth, which has been a valued partner of the ADA for more than 45 years. |
Gerry understood all too well the challenges of living with diabetes, having been diagnosed when he was 35. He worked tirelessly so others could benefit from the ADA’s groundbreaking research to prevent, manage, and ultimately cure diabetes. |
In 2021, Gerry died due to complications from diabetes. Just a few months before his passing, he was thrilled to present a large check to the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, 100% of which went directly to ADA-backed research projects. It meant the world to Gerry to have a positive impact on millions of lives—and to know his impact would be felt well beyond his lifetime. |
