I spoke with Brian Fancher at KLMJ in Hampton and Ty Rushing with the N’West Iowa Review.

We discussed absentee voting, ethanol used for hand sanitizer production and resuming my 99 county meetings.

In accordance with public health guidelines, I resumed my 99 county meetings. While I had to take a brief pause this year because of the pandemic, it was time to move forward in a safe and responsible way

During these meetings, I heard from Iowans about topics such as the Paycheck Protection Program, the food supply chain and greater transparency in cattle pricing.

I'm grateful to all Iowans who've stepped up in this challenging time. That is why Senator Ernst and I sent a letter to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to clarify guidelines on producing alcohol-based hand sanitizers.

Further guidance will help Iowa’s biofuel producers meet the growing need of hand sanitizer as our country continues to reopen.

I’ll continue to bring Iowan's voices to the policymaking tables in Washington. I look forward to holding more question-and-answer sessions and completing my 40th annual 99 county meetings later this year.
