Dear Friend, 

It has been a tough 30 days since Trump took office. The attacks on our communities have come hard and fast. It can be difficult in these moments to find the resilience we need to fight back.  Many were discouraged after Trump's second win that the tools and tactics we used in the first administration did not work. However, the need to stand together and stand as one have never been greater.

All of us who build upon the social movements that have come before us know: social change is made through nonviolent action that requires the participation of large numbers of people representing their dissent. It will take us all. 

Every day, we share ways you can show up in this moment. Today, we want to invite you. We invite you to be part of a powerful, intersectional movement fighting for all of us against the billionaires and the power-grabbers.

We invite you to join us on Wednesday March 12 for the Billionaires Are Killing Us a rally and march on the US Capitol.  In our invitation we ask you: will you join us, your DC neighbors, in the streets on March 12 and in the many other times our voices are needed? If you have felt alone, if you have felt disconnected, we offer you this invitation to come with us. 

And we ask you to invite your neighbors. On Friday, March 7th we will hold a text bank and outreach hub to invite thousands of people in the DMV to join us. Lunch will be provided and we encourage anyone looking to connect with others and find community in resistance to join us. 

There are important rallies happening in DC every day right now. We chose this one because the budget fight - in particular the campaign to protect Medicaid - offer the clearest leverage for the House and Senate lawmakers to stop the Trump agenda. Changes to Medicaid would also severely damage DC’s local budget. We are sending a message to all sides to stand up and protect our lives and stop the billionaires.
