Dear John,

The last time Bezalel Smotrich came to Washington, thousands of us protested against him, and no Biden Administration official agreed to meet with him. Just four months ago, 98 members of Congress wrote to then-President Biden requesting that the United States impose sanctions on Smotrich. Unfortunately, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is now set to meet with the self-proclaimed “fascist homophobe” and Minister of Occupation.

Smotrich voted against the ceasefire deal and has repeatedly shown that he doesn’t care about the hostages. And his support for the forced displacement of Gazans and the end of humanitarian aid are, very simply, calls for war crimes to be committed.

Please join me in signing this letter urging Administration officials not to meet with him.

Smotrich is an extremist: He called for the Palestinian village of Huwara to be erased from the map, claimed that starving two million people to death would be “just and moral,” and advocates for building settlements in Gaza. His violent rhetoric and hateful ideology have incited violence and will do so again.

Please join New Jewish Narrative in speaking out and urging the Trump administration not to meet with Smotrich. The ceasefire deal, the 2+ million residents of Gaza, and the 59 remaining hostages are too important.

Thank you for everything,
