In 2024, along with other large US banks, it exited the Net Zero Banking Alliance convened by the United Nations, calling further into question its commitment to cooperating across the finance sector towards key climate goals. It is unacceptable that Citi and other Big Banks continue to profit from business with the fossil fuel industry as people around the world face deadly climate disasters and future projections grow increasingly dire.
In the summer of 2024, activists with the Summer of Heat on Wall Street engaged in a sustained campaign of nonviolent civil disobedience to demand that Citi take the climate crisis seriously. Let's keep the pressure on.
