Governor Gordon signs first bills of 2025 legislative session

With the 2025 legislative session winding down, Governor Gordon has begun signing bills. The first bill to be signed by the Governor was Senate File 20, a bill that provides important support for producers in Wyoming’s core oil and gas industry. Sponsored by the Joint Minerals, Business and Economic Development committee, the bill benefits Wyoming’s energy industry and provides additional support for small oil and gas operators.

The Governor has also signed bills reducing the coal severance tax rate from 6.5 to 6 percent; providing better guidance and support to law enforcement when responding to missing adults; supporting the state's snowmobile visitor economy; and authorizing specially designed license plates to be issued to benefit search and rescue efforts.
