Our Earth passed 350ppm CO2 during 1988!

About our speaker: Dr. Amanda Lauricella is a classical singer and climate advocate based in Madison, Wisconsin. She joined the climate movement in 2022 after learning about the global landfill crisis and the important role composting has in not only reducing waste but reducing greenhouse gas emissions. She has worked for Green Box Compost, a local residential and commercial composting company that collects and recycles organic waste. In addition to composting, she is also passionate about reducing individual and collective plastic use and the relationship between plastics and ocean health.

Amanda received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Voice Performance in 2021 with a minor in Theatre and Drama at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is currently working as an Adjunct Professor of Voice and Diction at both Carroll University and Beloit College. She is also a freelance soprano and has most recently performed with the educational outreach company, Opera for the Young. Additionally, she volunteers with 350 Wisconsin, a nonprofit organization that works to make transformational progress toward environmental justice and solving the climate crisis

Elon Musk’s quest for power has a new target: Wisconsin’s supreme court ([link removed])

Keep your voting muscle exercised,
Get out and vote like your country & state depend on it!
Could Democrats Control the House This Spring?
Do you like the direction the country is taking?
What did you think of last Friday's "Art of the Deal"?

The U.S. Congress has 435 voting member seats
* The current math:
+ 215 are Democrats
+ 218 are Republican
+ That equals 433 voting members seated today - 2 empty
o Former Matt Gaetz (FL-1) & Michael Waltz (FL-6) seats are now vacant
+ One more will become vacant when Elise Stefanik (NY-1) is likely confirmed as the next UN US Ambassador)
+ That means three seats are open in special elections!
* IF somehow the Democrats picked up those three seats:
+ 218 Democratic
+ 217 Republican
+ A Democrat as House Speaker!

Consider:
* The April 1st special elections for the Florida seats are 4 weeks away (the date of the NY-21st special election won't be set until after Stefanik is confirmed - her confirmation is being slow walked ([link removed]) ).
* The new administration has been in office about 6 weeks and more and more people are rethinking their choices.
* Who knows where we'll be in another four weeks

The Democratic candidates:
* FL-1 Gay Valimont ([link removed])
* FL-6 Josh Weil ([link removed])
* NY-21 Blake Gendebien ([link removed])

If you can, please think about chipping in $5, $10, $20 or ? to one or more of these campaigns.

Every seat counts!
