Dear Jack,
As we transition from the legislative session in Richmond back to District 27, our communications will shift focus to Loudoun and important community information while keeping you apprised of what bills will become laws. We value your feedback and encourage you to share any suggestions on how to improve our weekly email or specific information you would like to see included. With that said, I have some updates to share with you! |

Here is a brief update on the legislative process, as we move into the next phase. Over the coming month, the Governor will be reviewing the bills that have passed the General Assembly. He has the option to sign them into law, veto them, or send them back to the General Assembly with proposed amendments.
In April, we will return to Richmond for the Reconvene Session. During this time, we will review the Governor's actions on the legislation and address any amendments he may have put forward.
Following the Reconvene Session, there is a possibility that the General Assembly will enter a special session to discuss the biennial budget in more detail. As you may remember, towards the end of the General Assembly session, we approved a conference budget that included increased funding for key areas like education, healthcare, and tax relief for all Virginians. Depending on the Governor's response to this budget, a special session may be necessary to finalize the details. If you're interested in reviewing the General Assembly's budget, please click the button below. Thank you for your continued interest in the work of the General Assembly. |

Resources for Federal Employees |
As our office continues to prioritize the work we can do for all of you, I must acknowledge the profound impact that recent federal government changes under the new Presidential Administration are having on many, including our own friends and family. The significant cuts in both jobs and funding are taking a heavy toll on hardworking public servants who have dedicated their lives to serving the nation through civilian service. These decisions will undoubtedly have a substantial impact on Loudoun County and Northern Virginia - regions that serve as the financial backbone of the Commonwealth – particularly for our less affluent communities.
Although our Governor and state Attorney General did not join other states in taking actions against these moves and to indemnify Virginia, our Speaker of the House, Don Scott, convened the Emergency Committee on the Impacts of Federal Workers and Funding Reductions. Pending our collaboration with the Emergency Committee, our office has compiled a list of resources that may offer some assistance. We are committed to finding ways to do more. Click the images below to contact my office if you require additional support or guidance in navigating these resources.

Permanent Absentee List Removal Card |
My office has been made aware that cards asking people if they want to be removed from the permanent absentee list have been circulating throughout the Commonwealth. Below is a photo of one of these cards for reference.
If you have received these cards, please provide your name and address via email here: [email protected]. We stand against any attempts at voter suppression and will closely monitor any attempts to interfere with your right to vote. |

How My Office Can Help You
|
Navigating state agencies can be confusing and difficult at times. As your delegate, I can help you communicate with state agencies such as the Virginia Employment Commission, Departments of Taxation, Social Services, Transportation, and more! I can also submit inquiries with those agencies on your behalf and help you engage with the state agency you need. There are limits to what I can do, however. For example, I am unable to expedite cases or force state agencies to favor your inquiry, provide legal advice or recommend a specific attorney, intervene with judicial issues, overturn decisions, or be involved with matters involving private businesses.
Whether you want to bring an issue to my attention, need my office’s assistance, or want to invite me to a community event, please reach out! If there is any way I can assist you, please let me know here: https://atoosareaser.com/help/. |
