NASN Leadership and Directors from across the country met in the nation's capital to advocate for healthier, safer learning environments. Advocating for ourselves and sharing our knowledge, evidence, and data about our practice is powerful. Our power as school nurses lies in the trust the public puts in us and the knowledge the public has about our expertise. We are the champions of equitable healthcare and education for our students, and we must continue to use our advocacy, inclusivity, and equity to dismantle the educational and healthcare barriers for our students. NASN's nationwide survey revealed that school nurses are widely seen as playing a vital role in schools and student well-being. We address critical healthcare needs, ensuring students can thrive in the classroom and beyond. We are thrilled to see nurses at the University of Virginia's School of Nursing amplifying the role of school nurses in supporting young people struggling with mental health issues.
