Our country is slowly beginning the reopening process, and so many Americans would be grateful to have a job to return to.
But that’s not the case for our $174,000/year congressman, Mike Levin.
In an irresponsible, unprecedented move this week, Mike Levin voluntarily forfeited his voting powers (and our district's vote) to a Democrat congressman from Michigan.
That means our district’s interests are now represented by an out of state congressman over 2,300 miles away — someone that none of our residents voted for. It's downright wrong: Mike Levin has surrendered his Constitutional obligations to our district and refuses to travel to Washington, D.C. to do his job.
We've been abandoned by our own congressman...so Michigan Rep. Dan Kildee has already started casting votes on behalf of our district on the floor of the House of Representatives.
Enough is enough. We need you to step up and take action today.
Our congressman refuses to go to work -- while still collecting his six-figure paycheck -- even as millions of Americans struggle to make ends meet. It’s clear that Mike Levin has given up our district.
Right now, we need leaders who will sit down at the negotiation table in Washington, set aside their differences, and get to work on restarting our economic engine so it can roar back to full strength. We need leaders who are willing to work harder when the going gets tough, not take the easy way out. We need leaders who believe that representing their constituents in Washington IS AN ESSENTIAL JOB.
If Mike isn't willing to be that leader, Brian will be. Easing the financial pain that so many Americans are feeling right now is not work that can be done from home. Do you agree? Click here to make an immediate contribution.
