Dear Supporter,
In a post by billionaire Elon Musk on X, “there are FAR more ‘eligible’ social security numbers than there are citizens in the USA. This might be the biggest fraud in history.” He’s even alleged that there are more than one million 150-year-olds who are claiming Social Security benefits.
The problem is Musk hasn’t provided any evidence to back up his claim of mass fraud. Instead his false allegations result from failing to understand how benefits are coded in the Social Security Administration (SSA) database.
In fact, SSA maintains the most complete federal database of individuals who have died, going back to 1899. And SSA regularly claws back overpayment of benefits and collaborates with other agencies and the states to ensure payments are not made to dead people.
Protect your earned benefits by signing our urgent Petition to Congress today! ( [link removed] )
Right now, we don’t know why Musk and his team of 20-something staffers who comprise the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are breaching the Social Security Administration system. (Last Sunday, the acting Social Security Administrator was forced to resign after refusing to give highly sensitive data to DOGE team members.)
That’s because they are working largely in secret and do not have to report to anyone in Congress or the White House or answer any of our questions. But we cannot afford for Musk and his minions to mess with this sensitive data, or worse yet, cut off payments to retirees and other beneficiaries.
Please sign our Emergency Petition to CONGRESS today, telling your lawmakers to stop any effort by Musk to tamper with Social Security beneficiaries’ personal data, or worse, freeze or stop funding for Social Security benefits. ( [link removed] )
Every day it seems unelected bureaucrat Elon Musk and his DOGE team gain access to yet another critical government system. And they can now do a lot of damage to our critical Social Security benefits. That’s why we must keep up the pressure on Congress to step in before it’s too late and protect the personal data and earned benefits of millions of older Americans!
Sincerely,
Max Richtman
