Good morning, friends!

It's been a heck of a week. Between my current lease ending and not having my next place ready yet, I have been packing up my place and putting things in storage. I'm going to stay with my daughter for a month or so and then move again (but at least I won't have to pack up for move #2!)

It's the end of the era of feeling trapped in my apartment and the beginning of one where I can get out more easily and rejoin the world. My stepfather and mother helped me out with a used car (it's quite old but extremely well-maintained), so I've been driving again for the first time in a couple of years. I've been driving since I was 14, but I was pretty anxious about getting behind the wheel again after all this time. After being a bundle of nerves the first few times, I feel much more confident behind the wheel.

All this stuff is positive but it's really quite exhausting. By the end of the day, I have to ice my ankle and hobble around with a cane. But just being able to get it done at all feels good and like I'm making progress.

I've been posting sporadically this week and probably will for the next week as well while I get all this stuff done. I seem to have a one-track mind of late - I can either pack and move or I can work, but I can't seem to do both.

Today my daughter is coming to help me move more stuff into storage and finish packing, and then we'll work on the move-out clean. I have had the absolute kindest and most lovely landlady here, and I'll miss it because of that. But I'm also excited to have some outdoor space where I can sit and read. But for something to begin, something else has to end, and I'm sure we'll stay in touch.

We got quite a bit of snow here on Wednesday and Thursday, but nowhere near the nine inches we were told we could expect. More like 2 inches, which for my part of the state is quite a bit. I love looking outside at the landscape sprinkled with what looks like powdered sugar. Now, the crazy weather has warmed up to the mid-sixties. North Carolina likes to shove all the seasons into a week sometimes. That's how we roll here.

I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

Stay safe and happy!

Daisy
