Dear John,
Any day now, the House will vote on a proposed budget that prioritizes tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations at the expense of women and families. As everyday people continue to struggle with the cost of living, this budget would spend trillions of dollars giving tax breaks to billionaires, as well as to the same giant corporations that have been needlessly inflating prices on groceries and other necessities.
President Trump has already made it clear he’ll do whatever billionaires want, and now leaders in Congress are following his lead. We cannot let this happen.
Congressional leaders are using this budget to jam through Trump’s extreme Project 2025 agenda. Instead of lowering costs for families, Trump and his supporters in Congress are going after programs like Medicaid and SNAP that help families afford essentials like groceries, health care, child care and care for aging and disabled family members.
If Congress really wanted to support everyday people and families, they could use the budget to invest in SNAP, Medicaid, child care, paid family leave for all, and a permanent, fully refundable Child Tax Credit. We must do everything we can so workers, children, disabled people, caregivers, and older adults don’t suffer and get left behind.
Tell Congress to vote NO on the Republican budget that would cut essential child care, food, housing and health care supports while providing new tax breaks for billionaires.
In solidarity,
