My wife Rocky and I joined my colleagues in Statuary Hall for the National Prayer Breakfast, a powerful reminder of the importance of faith, unity, and prayer for our nation.
It was an honor to gather with fellow leaders, including President Trump, to seek God’s wisdom and strength for America’s future. May he continue to bless and guide our great nation.

TAKING CALLS, TACKLING ISSUES
|
This week, I joined C-SPAN’s Washington Journal to take live calls and discuss the key fights ahead—strengthening our military, cutting wasteful spending, and defending American energy and security.
We covered the dangerously low defense budget, how China is outpacing us, and why we must invest in low-cost solutions to counter high-cost threats. I also laid out why the $36.2 trillion national debt and $1.8 trillion deficit are unsustainable—and why cutting government waste is a national security priority.
We need a military built to win, a government that works for taxpayers, and a defense budget that keeps America safe without reckless spending.

STOPPING THE FENTANYL CRISIS
|
This week, I voted to pass the HALT Fentanyl Act to crack down on traffickers and keep deadly fentanyl off our streets. This bill permanently classifies fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I drugs, closing loopholes cartels exploit.
Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans 18 to 45, killing more than cancer or car accidents. In North Carolina alone, nine people die every day from fentanyl overdoses. This is a war on our communities, and we must fight it like one.

PROTECTING AMERICAN ENERGY
|
This week, I voted to pass the Protecting American Energy Production Act to ensure American energy stays in American hands. This bill blocks the president from unilaterally banning fracking, safeguarding our energy independence and economic strength.
Energy security is national security. Shutting down domestic production doesn’t just kill jobs—it makes us dependent on China and OPEC. Fracking powers two-thirds of U.S. natural gas and half of our oil, keeping energy affordable for families. The left’s war on American energy must end.

Yesterday, I had a great meeting with the North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police, which represents over 6,000 law enforcement officers across our state. These brave men and women put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe, and they deserve leaders who have their backs.
While some in Washington push to defund the police, I will always work to defend them—ensuring they have the resources, training, and support they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

KEEPING OUR COMMUNITIES SAFE
|
I had a great meeting with Travis Page, District Attorney for NC’s District 38, to discuss real solutions for tackling crime and delivering justice. Keeping our communities safe means holding criminals accountable, supporting law enforcement, and ensuring our justice system works for the people—not against them.
I’ll keep fighting for policies that put public safety first.
