Add your name and send Elon and his cronies a message — remind them that Congress has the power of the purse, not special interests and billionaires!
John,
Elon Musk poured $277 million into electing Donald Trump in 2024.1
Musk was the single largest spender — on either side — in 2024. Now, he’s been rewarded — not just with power, but with control over an office housed within the Executive Office and, as we later learned, direct access to the financial systems of the federal government.
You read that right. Elon Musk, who has gotten rich from federal contracts, now controls how his companies — and his competition — get paid.
This is corruption in broad daylight.
It may be unprecedented in scale and speed, but it didn’t come from nowhere. So now is the time to draw a line in the sand — will you join me in urging Congress to do its job and STOP Musk’s government takeover?
For years, Issue One has been warning about the dangers of unlimited money in politics — a system where billionaires and special interests write the rules, and the voices of everyday Americans are drowned out. Now, what we’ve been warning against is here.
But here’s the good news: We can fight back.
The Constitution makes clear that it is Congress, not the President — and certainly not an unelected billionaire — who are in charge of federal funding.
Issue One and our allies are leading the charge to restore sanity to our democracy — to demand accountability, fight corruption, and rein in the influence of megadonors like Musk.
The floodgates opened with Citizens United, and today we’re seeing the full consequences of a democracy for sale.
Now is the time to fight back — that starts with every one of us making our voices heard.
Remind Congress that they have the power of the purse, not special interests and billionaires!
Thanks for your support,
The Issue One Team
