Now on to the update. Across our states, we're celebrating preliminary passage of universal school choice, a ban on eminent domain abuse, and Save Girls Sports, plus more!
Here are some of the highlights:
SOUTH DAKOTA
Last year, the South Dakota Freedom Caucus led an epic fight against a crony pipeline deal that the Establishment was trying to pass into law. The bill would seize private property through eminent domain and hand it off to the special interest groups that would profit off the bill.
The voters were so angry that they defeated 14 liberal Republicans who supported the bill. Momentum from that was so great that the State House just passed a bill last week that would prevent eminent domain abuse. Elections, as always, have consequences!
WYOMING
The Wyoming Freedom Caucus is in full control of the Wyoming State House and they are following through on their campaign promises. They just passed universal school choice on the same day that President Trump signed an executive order instructing the federal government to expand school choice.
The bill is now headed to the State Senate, where its outcome is uncertain, but the WY Freedom Caucus's strong mandate for conservative reforms will force them to negotiate.
ARIZONA
Congressman Andy Biggs, a proud House Freedom Caucus member and former chairman, recently announced his decision to run for governor in 2026.
Within hours, the Arizona Freedom Caucus proudly endorsed him. Can you imagine Governor Biggs and the AZFC working hand in hand to make Arizona great again? Here's the full release.
GEORGIA
The great Morton Blackwell said, "In politics, nothing moves unless pushed."
Truer words can't be spoken. Following the arrest of Georgia Freedom Caucus Vice-Chair Colton Moore at the governor's "State of the State" address, the liberal House Speaker Jon Burns has been playing defense to explain his own inexcusable behavior.
While he refuses to apologize to Colton, the Speaker had to allow Colton to attend the subsequent "State of the Judiciary" joint session - something Burns previously had been adamantly against. And the most beautiful thing happened. Over 300 grassroots activists went to the Capitol to show their support - not for the joint session - but for Colton's bravery in standing up to the Swamp.
Speaker Burns is now in full retreat mode - he is even facing a serious "recall" election campaign organized organically by the grassroots. This is forcing him to accommodate conservative legislation that he had previously been opposed to. He recently just announced that he will allow the Senate's "Save Girls Sports" bill to be considered in the House. It should pass easily and head to the Governor's desk for his signature.
