McGee Blvd., according to Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger. The shooting was reported shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday. A man was getting gas when he let another man, later identified as Hughley, inside his car to get out of the rain, Dayton police Maj. Brian Johns said. “At one time the individual asked for a ride but didn’t have any gas money,” he said. “At that time a disagreement began inside the vehicle. The person loitering in the parking lot began to assault the driver of the vehicle.” The driver of the vehicle reportedly pulled out a gun and fired three rounds, killing Hughley. He then went inside the gas station and asked the clerk to call the police. Hughley was not armed. Johns said last week the man was cooperating with police and no arrests had been made… Urbana, Illinois, November 16, 2024 (WAND) Around 4:30 this afternoon, UPD went to the intersection of Busey Ave. and Park St. for a shooting with injuries. The female driver followed the car into Carle Hospital’s emergency department parking lot, then pulled onto Park St. to create space between himself and the other vehicle. The female driver and the male passenger exited their vehicle near Park St. The woman allegedly was armed with a baseball bat. The man walked toward the other male driver with his hand under his shirt. The solo driver believed he was armed with a gun. The driver, a concealed carry permit holder, then drew out their legally concealed gun and fired several shots, hitting the male passenger. The driver called 911… At this time, no one has been arrested. The three shifts that remain open are: Thursday, February 20 from 1 PM to 4 PM Friday, February 21 from 2 PM to 4 PM Friday, February 21 from 4 PM to 6 PM As in the past, volunteers will be compensated with one year of membership for each shift worked along with $10/day for parking. Volunteers are provided with a MCRGO ball cap at no cost which we encourage them to wear at the event along with free admission to the show. Dress is casual. Legal carry is permitted. Outdoorama is the largest annual outdoor show in Southeast Michigan. MCRGO has had a booth at it for well over a decade. It provides a great opportunity for concealed pistol license holders and self defense activists to interact with a public audience that is receptive to the organization's mission. MCRGO offers discounted memberships at the show. Volunteering at MCRGO's booth is easy. Most people visiting the booth simply take materials off the table including our legislative updates, instructions on how to obtain a concealed pistol license, pens, and decals. Some people may ask questions about the organization, how to obtain a CPL, how to become an instructor, etc. which volunteers are welcome to answer based on their own knowledge. A notepad and pen will be available for you to take down contact information for anyone with legal or legislative questions. There are two volunteers on each shift to provide each with an opportunity to explore the event. MCRGO now has a double sized booth area to accommodate our interactive Multi Target Training Simulator (iMTTS). This was a new addition to our booth in 2024 and generates significantly more public interaction. Instructions for operating the simulator are provided to volunteers at the booth as well as in a detailed email the week before the event. The spreadsheet with available volunteer shifts can be found HERE. Please email us at
[email protected] with interest in volunteering for a shift as the spreadsheet is only editable by MCRGO.
