While there are hopeful initiatives coming from the newly inaugurated President Donald Trump, there is at the same time many policies that are cause for concern. Hence, our role as the LaRouche movement is indispensable in organizing this new presidential administration and the American people around the ideas which are necessary to bring the United States into harmony with the New Paradigm of the Global South.

Among the most important of Trump’s initiatives is his taking on the so-called “Deep State” or what’s known as the “permanent bureaucracy” in Washington D.C. His nominations of Tulsi Gabbard for DNI and Kash Patel for FBI director have caused great consternation among these layers, and Tulsi Gabbard’s confirmation hearing this last Thursday was particularly contentious. She was asked repeatedly to denounce Edward Snowden as a traitor, which she courageously refused to do. Now we must really mobilize and make sure these senators vote for their confirmation. If you haven't already, call your senators <[link removed]>and demand that they support the confirmations of Gabbard and Patel. 



The LaRouche movement had a powerful team on capitol hill these last two weeks distributing the “Liars’ Bureau” <[link removed]> pamphlet to all Senate offices, organizing them to support the nominations of Gabbard and Patel.

In another move of taking on this "permanent bureaucracy," Trump signed an Executive Order on January 23rd calling for plans to be drawn up in the immediate days ahead to release the John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. assassination files. The release of these files can open up a pandora's box showing which government institutions were involved in the murders of some of America’s greatest statesmen.

Also promising is Trump’s stated intention to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and China’s President Xi Jinping. If Trump can carry on meaningful dialogue with both and come to understand how the majority of the world, led by the BRICS nations, has moved into an irreversibly different, positive direction, the future can indeed be bright for the entire world.

However, Trump's understanding of this is limited and often contradictory, proving that we have our work cut out for us in shaping the discussion. He has attacked the BRICS’s efforts by threatening them with 100 % tariffs if they replace the US dollar as reserve currency.

He is also expressing dangerous views regarding the Middle East, such as his suggestion that the Palestinians should all be relocated from Gaza to nations such as Egypt, Jordan and Indonesia. And he signed a disgusting Executive Order attacking the freedom of speech of “pro-Hamas” protesters on campuses, claiming they are "anti-Semitic," while ignoring that many of these protesters are in fact Jewish. These protesters, as should be obvious, are not "anti-Semitic" but are opposing what they rightfully see as a horrific genocide being carried out by the United States and Israel against the population of Gaza.

What can you do? Call your senators <[link removed]> and demand that they support the confirmations of Gabbard and Patel. Call your representative <[link removed]> and demand they support the BRICS process, work with China and Russia, implement the Oasis Plan for peace in Southwest Asia, and permanently end the genocide in Gaza beyond the current ceasefire. Please also donate <[link removed]> to support our efforts. We are not spectators waiting for someone else to save us, we are shaping history and it is up to each of us to play our role in that.
