A federal judge in Rhode Island issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) blocking President Trump’s freeze on federal funding.

The Trump Administration acted unconstitutionally by trying to freeze trillions in critical federal funding for Americans for essential health, food, housing, disaster relief, public safety, education, and childcare services — but we’ve stopped him.

The Trump administration may not “pause, freeze, impede, block, cancel, or terminate” taxpayer money already allocated by Congress for the 22 states involved in this lawsuit, including California.

This is a big win, but the fight isn’t over. This case will go on and may potentially reach the U.S. Supreme Court, where one-third of justices were appointed by Trump during his first term.
