So far into the new administration, contradictory signals have been issued as to what to expect. The potential can be seen, for example, in President Trump’s remarks to journalists in the Oval Office about U.S./Russian discussions about ending the disastrous, Malthusian war which NATO forces launched in Ukraine on 2022. Trump noted that he would speak with President Vladimir Putin soon, and that he thinks will “perhaps do something that’ll be significant.”

A similar dialogue is in the works between the U.S. and China.
