Dear John,
February is Heart Month—and it's also Black History Month, a time to honor the contributions of Black women in our communities and healthcare. This Heart Month, we’re focusing on raising awareness about heart disease in women and highlighting the voices of Black women who are paving the way for healthier futures.
Here are five ways you can get involved this month to support women’s heart health and help make a lasting impact:
1. Volunteer to Make an Impact
There are many ways to volunteer, from supporting local events to helping spread heart health awareness in your community. By giving your time, you can help raise awareness and provide crucial information to those who need it most. Visit our website to learn more about getting involved.
2. Stay Educated with Our Resources
Check our website regularly for valuable heart health resources, and take this opportunity to learn more about heart disease, especially as it impacts Black women, who face higher rates of heart disease.
3. Support the Her Heart, Her History Campaign
In order to bring together Heart Month and Black History Month, we are spotlighting the stories and contributions of Black women in the fight for better heart health. Her Heart, Her History amplifies the voices of these women, sharing their histories and inspiring others to take action. By supporting this campaign, you honor their experiences and help us advocate for better care and awareness for Black women and women of all backgrounds. Learn more about Her Heart, Her History here: [link removed].
4. Share Your Story
Your story can make a powerful impact. By sharing your heart health journey, you can inspire other women in your community to take control of their health. Join us in celebrating the diverse stories of women who are breaking barriers and pushing for better heart health outcomes.
5. Donate to WomenHeart
Your donation directly supports programs that empower women with education, resources, and advocacy. Every dollar helps ensure that women receive the support they need to prioritize their heart health.
This month is an important time to reflect, act, and honor the many women who have come before us and are continuing to pave the way. Together, we can make this Heart Month one to remember!
