Folks here in New Mexico and across the country were rightfully outraged
when the Trump administration issued a federal funding freeze earlier this
week.

The administration’s actions created uncertainty and anxiety for families
who rely on programs like SNAP or WIC or services at the VA. His freeze
jeopardized the loans and grants that serve our communities.

After the public uproar, the Trump administration rescinded a memo
ordering the freeze – but they are still set on enforcing the president’s
cruelty.

Sadly, cruelty and chaos seem to be the standard features of a Trump
presidency. It's clear Trump does not care about our working families.

But if this week’s reversal proves anything, it’s that we DO have the
power to fight back. We CAN win these fights – but only if enough of us
make our voices heard.
