Dear John,
Thank you for your interest in our recent Freedom Worldwide webinar, “Iran in a Changing Middle East.” Whether you joined us live or couldn’t make it, I deeply value your engagement.
During the webinar, which was broadcast live from Damascus, we explored the evolving situation in Iran, where the authoritarian regime is losing its grip on power. Everyday Iranians are rejecting state-sponsored propaganda and have even refused to participate in pro-Hamas demonstrations. Despite the continued government oppression, the freedom movement in Iran is growing as more people embrace the principles of free markets and individual rights.
This moment marks a historic opportunity to build momentum for freedom across Iran and the broader Middle East, advancing peace, prosperity, and human dignity. It was a privilege to lead this conversation alongside Mohamad Machine-Chian, an Iranian public policy scholar and a leader of the country’s freedom movement. Together, we examined the critical role of the Iranian regime in the broader Middle East, the remarkable growth of the freedom movement in Iran, and what these developments mean for the future of free markets and individual rights in the region and beyond.
For those who missed the live webinar or would like to revisit the discussion, I’m pleased to provide the recording below:
