Hello John, Now that the Trump administration has taken office, we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to improve U.S. health care — with your help! To that end, a few weeks ago, we asked you to take a survey on what you would like to see the new Congress and President Trump do on health care. Hundreds of you responded, and the results are in! To all of you who took the time to complete the survey, thank you! Your valuable input helps ensure that we’re focused on the issues you care about most. Let’s get to the results: Nearly three-fourths (70%) of you said health care is important to you in 2024. When it comes to health care: Only 37% of respondents said the health care system does a good job meeting their needs. It’s clear that the health care system is falling short of your expectations. When only 4 in 10 say the health care system meets their needs, that’s a serious problem. The good news: We believe there are changes we can make to improve the situation. And the survey suggests you agree! Survey respondents were in near-unanimous agreement on these issues: - There’s too much government in health care, and it is driving up costs — we need more personal control.
- Individuals and families — not insurance companies or government — should have control over how health care dollars are spent. In other words, fund the patient, not the system.
- Patients should be able to choose the doctor they want to see, not the one the insurance company wants them to see.
- A Personal Option for health care (85%) is preferred over both Medicare for All (5%) and the public option (10%).
A huge thank you to everyone who completed the survey! Your input is already powering our government affairs team as they fight for real change on Capitol Hill — working to enact health care policies that lower costs and put patients first.
