It’s a month past New Year’s Eve but today we still find ourselves counting down the hours until midnight. The only difference is that instead of popping champagne, we’ll be logging onto ActBlue to see if we’ve met our monthly fundraising goal.

It’s not as fun as what we were doing exactly a month ago but it’s much more important because now, unlike on New Year’s Eve, Donald Trump is in the White House and wreaking all the havoc we expected he would, plus more.

Trump's ongoing attempt to freeze at least $3 TRILLION in federal funds is as unconstitutional as it is dangerous. People on food stamps and rent assistance could go without food and housing as a result of Trump’s actions. Domestic violence shelters risk losing crucial federal funding. Medicaid recipients are anxiously waiting to see what will happen to their healthcare.

But all of this is preventable with the right opposition. We’re on track to raise more money just this month than we did all of last year — but only if folks reading emails like these help us cross the finish line to reach our goal and help us rally young people.

Path to Progress is the only organization led by Generation Z that engages our peers with policy-based solutions instead of political bickering.
