Legislative Update
Dear friends and neighbors,
It's been another week here at the State Capitol. Following the Supreme Court’s ruling that a quorum of 68 members is required, we are currently unable to proceed with legislative sessions. The longer the House Democrats refuse to return to work, the closer we come to the risk of not passing a state budget by the June 30th deadline. At present, the legislature is effectively at a standstill, and Minnesota is facing what can only be described as a legislative shutdown.
Watch this video [ [link removed] ] for an update on the work being done by Republican members of the health committee. I want to highlight our commitment to improving emergency medical services (EMS) by meeting with EMS organizations, hospitals, nurses, and pharmacies. There is a lot of work to be done so it's time for the Democrats to come back to work.

*Democrats Not Showing Up to Work *
Democrats not showing up for work is just the same as students skipping school. Check out this video [ [link removed] ] to see what I mean!

*Meetings and Events*
There were many meetings and events held at the capitol this week. I enjoy getting to speak with everyone and hear their priorities!
* Tuesday evening myself and other Republican colleagues went to the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUC) event. We met with attendees and listened to priorities from the four corners of Minnesota.
* I attended an event that Michelle Bachman spoke at.
* The Minnesota Ambulance Association hosted a Rural EMS Roundtable event on Tuesday. This live panel discussion focused on rural EMS, the role ground ambulance services play in the healthcare system, the impact recent legislation has had, and recommendations for a sustainable future.
