Hey John,
The first days of the Trump administration have brought danger and harm to this country and the world. Millions of young people are uncertain about their safety and their future. And Trump’s doubling down on his horrific attempts to regulate transgender people out of existence is more violence. Yesterday’s executive order attempting to ban health care for trans young people comes on the heels of last week’s order forcing many trans and non-binary people to have inaccurate gender markers on their IDs.
We can’t let these attacks go unchecked. Trans and non-binary youth have always been here and will always be here. We need to work harder than ever to build a world that protects their safety, meets their needs, and celebrates their power!
Even as governments inflict abuse on trans and non-binary young people, we can fight back. We can build spaces that include and affirm trans and non-binary young people - regardless of what the President or any politician says. Speaking out, fighting bans, and claiming our right to exist.
I’m sharing these resources in the hope that they will inspire and support you in building communities that welcome and celebrate trans and non-binary young people. It’s more important than ever to reaffirm our commitment to transgender equality and liberation.
