** The Promise of 2025
------------------------------------------------------------

These past weeks have been fraught full of significant shifts in national policy.

At first glance for pro-life America, the signal through the noise appears positive.

** Trump Administration Update
------------------------------------------------------------

In his first hours as America’s 47th President, Donald Trump took several actions and instituted executive orders (EO’s) with far-reaching impact:
* Removed the website reproductiverights.gov ([link removed]) from the White House domain. The now disabled website was created by the Biden administration’s HHS in response to the Dobbs decision which overturned Roe v Wade.
* Enforced the Hyde Amendment ([link removed]) which prevents taxpayer dollars from being used to fund or promote abortion. This EO ([link removed]) rescinded the Biden-era policies which politicized the FACE Act and re-categorized abortion as ”healthcare” allowing Medicaid dollars to be used for abortion travel.
* Reinstated the Mexico City Policy ([link removed]) (now known as Protecting Life Globally) to stop the use of taxpayer dollars from being used overseas for abortion or to advocate for abortion by organizations in those countries.
* Issued statement ([link removed]) in support H.R. 21 – Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act - and agreed to sign into law, if passed.
* Rejoined the Geneva Consensus Declaration, an international agreement which declares:
+ There is no international right to abortion.
+ Women and unborn children deserve protection and health care.
+ Sovereign nations have the right to enact pro-life laws without interference.
* Defined the official policy of the United States ([link removed]) recognizes two sexes: male and female.
* Protected women and children by designating cartels as terrorist organizations ([link removed]) , authorizing cross-agency and local enforcement cooperation to jointly go after illegal alien criminals many of whom are trafficking women and children into sexual slavery, are pedophiles, are peddling deadly drugs to American children, and are murderers.
* Pardoned 23 peaceful pro-life protesters ([link removed]) who were maliciously prosecuted under the FACE Act.

Meanwhile, Vice President Vance spoke at the National March for Life ([link removed]) following a video address by President Trump.

** Congressional Update
------------------------------------------------------------

U.S. Senate:

Senate James Lankford (R-OK) introduced the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act in the U.S. Senate. A vote took place on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade to move the bill toward final passage. In the 52-47 procedural vote, no Democrat voted in favor to advance the bill under the chamber’s legislative filibuster rules which requires the support of at least 60 senators.

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) introduced legislation ([link removed]) that would prohibit federal funding from any provider that performs abortions, offers referrals for abortions, or that funds clinics that perform abortions.

Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) introduced a pair of bills that will require all 50 states to be transparent and accurate about the number of abortions ([link removed]) and prohibit federal funding for Planned Parenthood ([link removed]) , the nation’s largest abortion provider.

Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) asked an excellent question ([link removed]) of President Trump’s nominee for Health & Human Services Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. during his Senate confirmation hearing. Senator Daines specifically asked RFK Jr. about the FDA’s de-regulation of Mifepristone, a component of the abortion pill cocktail. RFK Jr. responded as follows (paraphrasing:)
* President Trump has asked him to study the safety of Mifepristone.
* It is immoral to have a policy where patients and/or doctors are not allowed to report adverse events.
* Agreed to vet the policies implemented by the Obama and Biden administrations.
* Agrees with President Trump that every abortion is a tragedy. (This is a shift of philosophy for RFK Jr.; we should all keep a watchful eye.)

U.S. House:

Reps. Wagner (R-MO), Scalise (R-LA), and Cammack (R-FL) introduced the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act in the U.S. House. The bill passed along party lines with 11 representatives not voting. Georgia’s Representatives all voted and along party lines. The bill is now in the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

Meanwhile, Speaker Johnson shared his own story at the National March for Life, joined by many of his colleagues from both chambers. Watch his remarks. (Click on image below.)

** Georgia Update
------------------------------------------------------------

With Roe overturned and the LIFE Act in place, Georgia has led the nation and established itself as a pro-life state.

The pro-death, pro-abortion lobby remains hard at work to undo the life-saving work of our legislators and all of you. They cleverly work to convince our fellow citizens and, most concerning, our youth that abortion is somehow “healthcare” when it is the exact antithesis of healthcare. This has resulted in some astonishing news and statistics:
* With abortion stats all over the map, and depending on the source, Georgia is anywhere from the 11th ([link removed]) to the 3rd ([link removed]) HIGHEST abortion rate in the country.
* At least 2 Georgia women ([link removed]) have tragically died due to the abortion pill cocktail.
* Heartbreaking: a teen mom ended the life of her newborn son because, “No one of any adult nature or even a peer of hers offered her any assistance ([link removed]) .”

The Women’s Health & Safety Act ([link removed]) could have potentially saved the lives of the two women who died from the abortion pill regimen. With proper funding of Georgia’s Positive Alternatives grant, that teen mom may have found the support she needed and not have taken her newborn’s life.

This is why we march!

Let’s change the culture.
