Time and time again, we see good officers being targeted by political prosecutors who care more about their agendas than justice. Officer Chance Bretches is an unfortunate victim of this disgraceful trend.
Officer Bretches served his community with honor, following his training and doing what he was sworn to do—protect and serve. But now, his future hangs in the balance because of a politically motivated prosecution.
In 2019, Officer Bretches and his partner responded to a dangerous situation involving a violent suspect resisting arrest. They used department-approved techniques to subdue the suspect safely. Despite an internal investigation clearing them of wrongdoing, radical District Attorney José Garza—funded by left-wing activist groups—is determined to destroy Officer Bretches' career and life.
What’s happening to Officer Bretches is part of a larger war on law enforcement. If they can take him down, no officer is safe. We must fight back before it’s too late. If prosecutors can railroad a decorated officer like Chance Bretches, they can do it to anyone. We CANNOT allow this to happen.
