John – I wanted to make sure you saw my email below.
Republican leaders in Congress want to repeal a rule that will keep kids safe from lead in their water. This week, we’ve been ramping up pressure on members of Congress – holding rallies and meeting with staffers in key districts across the country.
Now, we need you to add your voice! Republicans have a razor-thin majority in the House of Representatives, which means pressure from constituents will be the key to stopping this effort.
Send a message to demand that your U.S. Representative does the right thing and votes to keep lead out of our water!

Subject: Tell Congress: Keep lead out of our Water!
John,
There is no safe level of lead in drinking water — it’s especially dangerous for children — yet millions of families across the country are exposed to lead in their water every single day.
Now, with the Trump Administration underway, Republican leaders in Congress are moving their priorities forward, including a resolution to repeal a critical rule that will protect communities from toxic lead water pipes. They have just 60 days to pass it through both houses of Congress — with enough pressure now, we can stop this from happening.
Send a message to your U.S. Rep. to demand that they reject any resolution to revoke the Lead out of Water Rule!

Lead harms every major system of the human body – and infants and young children are especially vulnerable. Exposure can lead to developmental disorders, damage to the nervous system and blood cells, and more. Lead service lines are the main source of lead in drinking water, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that 9 million homes are still served through these lead lines.
Under the Biden Administration, the EPA adopted the historic Lead out of Water Rule (called the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements) that requires the replacement of lead service lines in most communities over the next decade — protecting millions of families from lead exposure through their drinking water.
Yet despite this critical, commonsense measure, Republicans in Congress have made it a top priority to repeal this rule and keep poisoning families with lead. And they’ve wasted no time — already introducing a resolution (H.J Res 18) to undo the Lead Out of Water Rule. They will likely reintroduce a similar measure and move it rapidly through Congress.
But — with a razor-thin majority in the House of Representatives, Republicans will need every vote to get this done. We know that if we raise enough public outrage, we can stop this resolution and protect children and families across the country.
Your member of Congress needs to hear from you! Send your message to reject H.J. Res 18 and any similar measure and protect the Lead Out of Water Rule!
No Lead in Our Water!
Instead of prioritizing tax cuts for billionaires and huge corporations, we need our representatives in Congress to prioritize safe water for all — and to reject attempts to weaken water safety regulations.

Onward together,
