# [#]The destruction we’ve seen in Los Angeles, and the wildfire in our own district, is a painful reminder that as wildfires continue to increase in frequency and intensity, so too does the harm to human life and our ecosystems.
That’s why I’ve made it a top priority in the new Congress to better protect our communities from disasters like this – and just last week the House voted to pass my bipartisan legislation aimed at doing exactly that. It will go a long way in restoring forest health, reducing catastrophic wildfires that contribute to pollution and climate change, and increasing community resilience to fire threats.
It’s clear that the climate crisis isn’t waiting, so neither can we.
By instituting these smart policy changes now, we can help prevent fires, limit their spread, and make them less destructive.
I need to hear from our strongest supporters on this important issue. If you’re on board with our work to put in place long-term climate preparedness measures, add your name here: [[link removed]]
