There were three different hearings this week alone: NH, MT, and DE. Our Coalitions Director, Jessica Rodgers, was on site in DE and stopped off in MD to do some direct lobbying to stand in solidarity with our local allies. Sarah Davenport-Smith from our coalitions team testified in MT in favor of SB136. Although technically illegal, assisted suicide is practiced with impunity in MT due to a ruling in state court. This session could change all that with SB136 to restore protections for vulnerable people.

"Inevitably, there would be vulnerable people coerced into an “assisted death” by unscrupulous relatives. No matter what “safeguards” our MPs write into the legislation, they won’t stop some sociopath of a son guilt-tripping his elderly mother into an early grave so that he can get his claws on her cash." |

We've appealed our case to the 9th Circuit. Click below to learn more about this lawsuit. |
