SBE APPROVES CHAPTER 2 RULES ON SCHOOL SCHEDULES AND ELECTS OFFICERS
CHEYENNE - The Wyoming State Board of Education (SBE) met virtually on January 23 and took action to approve rule promulgation on Chapter 2 School Schedules. The SBE reviewed and responded to input collected during the 45-day public comment period. The revised rules will now be forwarded to Governor Mark Gordon.
In further action, the board adopted two policies related to travel reimbursement and elected new SBE officers. Dr. Mark Mathern from Casper was elected as chair, Ellen Creagar from Torrington as vice chair, and R.J. Kost from Powell as treasurer. Current Chairman Bill Lambert and board member Debbie Bovee will serve their final board meeting on February 27 in Cheyenne after which new officers will officially assume their leadership positions.
The February board meeting will include a half-day work session on the state assessment, followed by the regularly scheduled meeting.
