you this week by the editors at the Free Telegraph! Arizona law
enforcement officers are getting a much-deserved pay raise. The governor

Under Gov. Ducey, State Troopers Get Pay Raises in Arizona
What Happened:
State troopers are getting a well-deserved 10% pay raise in Arizona
under GOP Gov. Doug Ducey.
Why You Should Care:
Our nation's law enforcement officers put their lives on the line for
us every day. Arizona's new budget shows it is possible to be fiscally
responsible AND give pay raises to the men and women who keep our
communities safe.
What Happens Next:
Hopefully, troopers in Arizona will know they're appreciated. At the
same time, there's a good chance the pay raises will help recruit and
train new classes of officers in Arizona.

Anti-Trump Hollywood Unwelcome in Pro-Trump Louisiana, GOP Says
What Happened:
Louisiana Republicans are going after Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards
for giving taxpayer-funded incentives to a movie studio...that promptly
turned around and filmed a movie about "murdering ordinary people
because of their political beliefs." Yeah, weird stuff.
Why You Should Care:
Lots of states give incentives to Hollywood, but the Louisiana
Republican Party is arguing that this particular deal shows Gov. Edwards
is out of touch with his very pro-Trump state. Also, it should be noted,
Edwards went on a fundraising mission to Hollywood last summer to raise
money for his re-election campaign.
What Happens Next:
Spoiler alert: The studio pulled the film, so it won't be released.
Also, it's unlikely Gov. Edwards will apologize or stop courting
Hollywood campaign cash anytime soon...

New Poll: North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum Holds Outstanding 70%
Favorability Rating, Outperforms Democrats
What Happened:
A recent poll out of North shows Republican Gov. Doug Burgum with a
commanding 70% favorability rating. What's more, he's even viewed
more favorably than unfavorably among Democrats!
Why You Should Care:
This latest poll is part of a trend for Gov. Burgum, whose pro-business
attitude and solid record in the state are gaining attention with voters
- Republican and Democrats alike. His is common-sense, conservative
leadership!
What Happens Next:
We expect more of the same from Gov. Burgum!
