Dear Friend,

I am excited to share that NCOSE updates and newsletters will now come from our new President, Dr. Marcel van der Watt and other members of our executive leadership team—Dani Pinter and Haley McNamara!  

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Marcel for years, and I’ve seen firsthand his unwavering passion for this mission and his deep understanding of the complex issues we tackle every day.  

Marcel brings a wealth of experience from his 20+ years defending human dignity—first in law enforcement taking down sex traffickers and criminal networks, then as a scholar and researcher exposing connections and systems promoting sexual exploitation, and most recently as NCOSE’s Senior Vice President of Impact and Operations. Marcel’s dedication, commitment, and fresh energy will guide NCOSE as it moves into this next chapter. He cares deeply about the work we do, and I know he’ll build on the strong foundation we’ve created together.  

On the executive leadership team, serving alongside Marcel, is Dani Pinter, Senior Vice President and Director of the NCOSE Law Center, and Haley McNamara, Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Programs. Dani serves as a voice for human dignity in precedent-setting legal cases, advocating on behalf of victims of sexual abuse and exploitation. She frequently speaks on issues related to exploitation, with a particular focus on protecting youth in the digital age and pursuing legal remedies for survivors. Haley leads joint campaigns in legislation, litigation, and corporate advocacy, addressing the broad spectrum of sexual exploitation issues. Her work has driven policy improvements in industries such as social media, online advertising, retail, and hospitality. Haley also writes and speaks extensively on topics like child sexual abuse and sex trafficking. 

Following nearly 16 years of intense advocacy on these issues – 14 as director of NCOSE –  I will be taking a personal sabbatical and will step back from the role of CEO while remaining an advisor to NCOSE and continuing to be a part of NCOSE in this new way. I’m looking forward to this season of rest and continuing to support NCOSE and the mission we’re all committed to.
