Dear John,
Trump hasn’t even been in office for two weeks and he, Vice President Vance, and their extremist enablers have already wreaked havoc on our political system—with lawless efforts to execute the white supremacist, misogynistic, and racist plans they laid out in their Project 2025 playbook. We can’t be complacent.
We need Congress to act now—and fast. We must demand that they use every tool at their disposal to block the widespread cruelty of the Trump administration and attempt to erase our communities.
President Trump has already signed a range of unconstitutional executive orders that seek to eviscerate decades-long workplace protections, curtail abortion access, and threaten the rights and humanity of women, the LGBTQIA+ community, and immigrants.
Let’s show Congress that we will not let them be complacent in the destruction of our democracy.
When our rights, our lives, and our futures are on the line, showing up and fighting back is not optional—it is their duty. Join us in sending a message to Congress—add your name to our open letter by noon ET on Friday, and we’ll include it in our ad in the Washington Post next week.
We have a long and intense fight ahead of us. We have freedoms to protect and mountains to move. We will be there alongside you. We just need to make sure Congress will be fighting with us.
In solidarity,
Arvia Walker
