Hello John,
We need to talk about RFK. It’s unbelievable that we live in a world where this deranged lunatic is about to become our next Secretary of HHS. Even worse, we've reached a point where Republicans think it's acceptable to bring back diseases like polio, measles, and smallpox. Anyone who claims otherwise simply isn’t paying attention.
When RFK goes on national television and spreads lies about childhood vaccines being linked to autism, he is actively encouraging vulnerable parents to ignore their pediatricians, school administrators, scientists, and global experts—because he thinks he knows better. Right now, tens of thousands of children remain unvaccinated due to conspiracy theorists and propagandists like RFK.
As a parent of three young children, this infuriates me. This is a privileged, white drug addict—his cousin’s words, not mine. If you haven't seen Ambassador Catherine Kennedy’s video, I strongly encourage you to watch it.
The hypocrisy is nauseating, to say the least. Trump, RFK, and Republican senators all vaccinate their own children and loved ones but want everyday Americans to forgo vaccines, leaving kids exposed to diseases we’ve already conquered. My father-in-law had polio as a child—one leg is longer than the other. He lives with the lasting effects of this disease. Don’t you think he wishes his parents had the option to vaccinate him?
Yet here we are, forced into this pointless and dangerous debate—all because Trump won. Today’s RFK hearing was infuriating, but it also exposed the deep flaws in his arguments. The good news? The majority of Americans—Democrats, Republicans, and Independents—agree that childhood vaccines work and that polio and smallpox belong in the past. We need to keep reminding people of that and continue exposing the Trump disaster unfolding before our eyes.
During today’s hearing, Senator Hassan tore apart RFK’s hypocritical flip-flopping on abortion. Let’s be clear: Republicans envision a country where they control every aspect of our lives. They want women to be subservient to men. For many of them, the abortion debate isn’t about religion—it’s about power. And right now, they are dangerously close to getting exactly what they want.
But that’s where we come in. Trump has already been forced to reverse some of his executive orders—whether by judges or overwhelming public outrage. Even Republican governors are urging him to slow down and think before signing more disastrous policies. What a novel concept, right?
We must keep up the pressure, keep making noise, and keep educating the public. That is our mission for the next two years. And we need your help to do it.
I know people are angry—I’ve seen the emails, and I set aside 5-6 hours each week to respond to as many as possible. If I haven’t gotten to yours yet, know that every email is read and absorbed. We’re in this fight together. Let’s keep pushing forward.
In Solidarity,
Hassan Martini
