ICYMI:
Federal Funding Pause Hurts Trafficking Survivors
If you didn’t see our official statement yesterday on the federal funding pause memo, I am sharing it again below. Before you read it (or after!) please make the most generous gift you can. Survivors will be without lifesaving services, human trafficking will go unchecked, and people will get hurt. Your support is lifesaving.
Freedom Network USA unequivocally condemns the Trump Administration’s OMB Memo M-25-13, which will enable human trafficking, harm trafficking victims and survivors, and shield traffickers from accountability.
Programs created under the monumental Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) within the Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services have been paused under this memo, leaving survivors of trafficking across the country without access to housing, food, and support that prevents exploitation.
We are leading opposition to the implementation of this memo and raising the alarm about its impacts while our members continue to do lifesaving work for human trafficking survivors. We are engaged in tireless advocacy with the federal government so our members can remain focused on providing essential services to thousands of human trafficking survivors nationwide.
