We are witnessing a dangerous consolidation of power with one clear goal: the absolute abuse of it to settle personal grievances and to line the pockets of the uber wealthy.
The decision to freeze all federal grant and loan funds will have devastating consequences for millions. Throughout yesterday, the White House either wouldn’t or couldn’t confirm whether Medicaid — which covers nearly 1 in 5 Americans — would be impacted by the freeze. Either they don’t care if people have coverage or they don’t want people to have coverage.
While a federal judge has temporarily halted this illegal and unconstitutional order, there is no version of this power grab that won't hurt Americans. Trump is not interested in us, our families, or our communities. Unless you donate millions of dollars or stage an insurrection, this White House just doesn’t care about you.
